Hippocampe wheelchair is designed to be resist water, which can be borrowed from the changing room and you can also use it while taking a shower. The wheelchair is easy to use and equipped with a front directional wheel helping it to move freely up and down the lanes of the swimming pool. The seat of the wheelchair is made from hydrophobe foam to provide maximum comfort and water resistance.
For accessing the pool, there are three possible solutions: First, is to get off the slope access then you can lift yourself out of the wheelchair. Second, is to use the brakes and stop the Hippocampe wheelchair, then moving yourself to the nearest ground surface to the water and entering the pool. Third, is to take the help of another person to reach the water.

Hippocampe wheelchair is manufactured by VIPAMAT TECHNOLOGIE. It’s designed to meet the needs of all age and sizes. Hippocampe wheelchair weighs only 29 pounds (13kg). The user sits 13.8 inches (35cm) above the ground providing stability.
The wheelchair can be operated easily by the user himself, using the rear tires. You can also ask for the help of another person to push the bar of the backrest.
The wheelchair has adapted the technology of the nautical and cycling industry, making it rust proof. It is made of stainless steel, aluminum and plastic.
The Hippocampe is made of:
- A Directional front wheel
- A foot-rest covered in fiber-glass with closed cells foam to protect from any injuries causing to skin
- An anodized aluminum tubes base frame covered with a blue casing in order prevent it from sunlight and skin burns
- The seat is made of a closed cells fabric with a hole in the center for water to evacuate
