1. What is the difference between a folding scooter and a travel scooter?
A Travel scooter is any model made to be transported easily without additional devices such as a vehicle carrier. Folding scooters are a travel scooter but usually refers to models which fold into a single smaller piece that may be lifted as one part and in some cases may also be rolled like luggage.
2. What is the lightest travel scooter?
There are two types of travel scooters, Folding models which are usually lifted as one part and the lightest of these, Gypsy, is 33 lbs and Disassembled models which have a heaviest part of 29 lbs. Disassembly and reassembly take less than 30 seconds.
3. Can travel scooters be carried on airplanes?
Check the battery type of your model to see if they are Lithium or Sealed Lead-Acid(SLA). Airlines usually have no limitations on SLA Batteries. Lithium Batteries often have a limitation on the Amperage allowed. Check with your airline for specific requirements.
4. How do travel scooters perform on grass?
Most travel scooters work on any firm, low ground such as grass or gravel paths. Check the ground clearance of your scooter to determine limitations. Note that these models will not be as stable as heavier duty scooters.
5. How far can I go on a travel scooter?

6. Are travel scooters safe for the elderly?
It is important to choose a scooter for an individual’s needs regardless of age. Some seniors are very stable while others are not. 7. What kind of batteries do travel scooters use?
Travel scooters have a battery pack with either two 12 Volt SLA batteries or one Lithium battery.
8. How often must portable scooters be charged?
In general, you want to charge the scooter after each use. If you are not using the scooter then you want to charge it every two to three weeks. Follow the instructions in the scooter owner manual.
9. Do travel scooters have a key?
Yes, most models have a key. However, these are light scooters designed to be easy to carry so the key is for safety not a security feature.
