1. Are heavy duty scooters designed for roads?
Mobility Scooters are not street legal and should not be used on roads used by cars. They are allowed on sidewalks, walking paths and anywhere that a bicycle is allowed.
2. Can I ride with my pet on the scooter?
Yes, just make sure the combined weight of you and your pet is less than the total weight capacity of the scooter.
3. Which is the right heavy-duty scooter to drive at night?
Most heavy duty scooters have headlights, turn signals and reflective tape. Any of these models would work at night on walkways.
4. Do you have dual seat options?
Yes, we have a few models that have dual seat options. The Afiscooter S4 is one of the top models with a dual seat option.
5. Are the tires on these scooters air-filled or flat-free?
Many of the heavy duty scooters have air filled tires to ensure a comfortable ride. Some have the flat-free tires with suspension. Look at the specifications for the model you want or call to speak to a Scooter Direct representative.
6. Do these scooters come with anti-theft features?
All of these scooters come with keys to prevent it from being used without them. However, all of the mobility scooters have a free wheel lever to allow it to be pushed without the key.
7. Do I need to be certified for my disability to drive these scooters?
No. Mobility scooters can be used by anyone without any local, state or federal licensing.
8. How should I store the mobility scooter?
Scooters should be stored inside whenever possible. If not, they need to be stored so they cannot get wet and temperatures cannot exceed the battery tolerance. Batteries should be charged every 2 weeks if the scooter is not being used.
9. What is the warranty on these mobility scooters?
Most of our mobility scooters come with an In-Home Parts and Labor Warranty. If a problem occurs, call Scooter Direct or the manufacturer and a part and technician will be dispatched to your home.
10. Can I get my heavy-duty scooter serviced at home after the warranty?
Yes. You can contact a local dealer for service or you can call a company that offers this service nationwide.
